Brewmaster’s Blast January 2019
The brewhouse is a bit quiet this time of year. I have finished the initial installation of the 7bbl brewing equipment and am spending a fair amount of time on getting set-up the way I want it. When finished will be able to use the Hot Liquor Tank (HLT) to heat glycol for use in heating up the Mash Tun (MT) or most of the wine tanks. This will allow me to have more precise control over the brewing and will allow me to also warm up a wine when needed.
As for the beers on tap now. My daughter Sara came out and brewed here Silver Medal “Grape Schism” again. It came out slightly hoppier than the previous, but it is well worth trying. For those of you wanting a little less alcohol in their beer the current Low Level Lager is a great choice. For those of you who like pilsners I just kegged our Pegasus Pilsner and it is to die for. Hops are a touch higher on this so it is more of a Northern German or Check Pils.
